We are deeply saddened to inform you of the passing of Reb Avrohom Briskman, z”l. He was 55 years of age and had been battling an illness.

The niftar was born to his father, Reb Zalman Briskman, who hailed from a long line of Stoliner chassidim in Russia.

He was raised davening in the Stoliner Shul on Rodney Street in Williamsburg, and absorbed the nusach and the nigunim that are so unique to Stolin and which remained with him his entire life. He was an ardent chossid of the Loitzker Rebbe, shlit”a.

He was a longtime mispalel in the Beleder Beis Medrash, and Rav Shloime Taussig, the Beleder Rov recalls his smile and his exceptional heart.

“He would light up the room wherever he went, and we always knew that when he was in attendance at the shiur, it was a different atmosphere,” he recalled.

He also related that the niftas was an exceptional ba’al tefillah and ba’al toke’ah for the Loitzker Minyan in Boro Park, and moved the kehillah deeply with his davening.

Reb Avraham struggled with illness in recent years, and was niftar Monday, plunging his family and many friends and acquaintances into mourning.

The levaya took place at the Beleder Beis Medrash Monday evening.

Yehi zichro baruch.
