BDE: Reb Moshe Eliezer Adler, z”l
By: Yehuda Alter
We are saddened to inform you of the passing of Reb Moshe Eliezer Adler, z”l, a longtime resident of Boro Park, who left behind a beautiful Torah family.
He was born on the Lower East Side of Manhattan to his father, Reb Shloime Zalman, an immigrant from Romania who came here as a bachur, and clung valiantly to the ways of Torah.
As a boy, R’ Moshe Eliezer learned in Yeshiva RJJ on the Lower East Side. Later he went to Ner Yisroel in Baltimore, where he was very close to a number of the illustrious rebbeim. Finally, he came to Mesivta Tiferes Yerushalayim, and became a lifelong talmid of Rav Moshe Feinstein, zt”l, whom he served as a driver and gabbai for a number of years.
After his marriage, he settled in Boro Park. For many years he davened in Kapishnitz, where he was close to the Kapishnitzer Rebbe since his childhood on the Lower East Side. Here he also became a talmid of Rav Shaul Bruss, who famously delivered a nightly shiur in the beis medrash.
He also davened in Shaarei Yosher, under the leadership of Rav Yosef Rosenblum, for many years.
He was known for his ehrlichkeit and his middos tovos, and upon his passing leaves behind generations of Torah true descendants.
The levaya took place at Yeshiva Shaarei Yosher this afternoon, and the niftar was taken to Eretz Yisroel for kevurah.
Yehi zichro Baruch.
