BDE: Reb Simcha Cynamon, z"l

YS GOLD

We regret to inform you of the passing of Reb Simcha Bunim Cynamon, z"l, a longtime Boro Park resident, and a giant talmid chochom. He was 91 years of age.

The niftar hailed from a family of chassidim in Poland, where he was born in 1934. The family escaped to France as the war approached, and this is how he was saved from the Holocaust.

He learned in the Chevron Yeshiva, and became davuk in his rebbeim there. His reputation as an iluy began there in the yeshiva, and was a constant theme in his life.

He married the daughter of Rav Naftoli Teichman of Williamsburg, a descendant of great tzaddikim, and together with, tbl"ch, raised a wonderful Torah family with numerous talmidei chachomim among them.

Reb Simcha davened at the Agudah of 18th Avenue, where he was among the distinguished and esteemed mispalelim. He was always learning... always with a sefer of something complex to learn, and he was always speaking in learning with other Torah scholars.

His love for Torah accompanied him into his ninth decade, until his last days on earth, and it will surely accompany him to the Olam Ha'emes.

The levaya will take place at Shomrei Hadas at 10:00 this morning, and Reb Simcha will be interred in Eretz Yisroel.

Yehi zichro baruch.
