BDE: The Strelisker Rebbe, zt”l
YS Gold
We regret to inform you of the petirah of Rav Yaakov Shlomo Klughaupt, the Strelisker Rebbe, zt”l, one of the most senior Rabbonim and Admorim in Boro Park. He was niftar Friday night at the age of 94.
The Rebbe was the son and successor of Rav Levi Yitzchok Klughaupt, the Strelisker Rebbe of London, who was a scion of many great luminaries of the Chassidic movement. The Rebbe was the son in law of Rav Mendel Schechter of Yerushalayim.
The Rebbe was a Holocaust survivor, having been born in the town of Strelisk, today in Ukraine. He later fled to Vienna, where he remained throughout the war years. He was known for his greatness in Torah and his simplicity and humility.
On Friday night, the Rebbe made kiddush, and then suddenly returned his neshomoh to its Maker, leaving behind beautiful generations, with numerous Rabbonim, chassidim, and bnei Torah among them.
The Levaya will take place 11:30 this morning at the Boyaner Kloiz in Boro Park.
Yehi zichro baruch.
