BDE: Ungvarer Rebbetzin, a”h, Passed away in Yerushalayim

We are saddened to inform you of the petirah of Rebbetzin Ahuva Liba Klein, a”h, Rebbetzin of Rav Menashe Klein, author of the multi-volume Mishneh Halochos, and longtime posek in Boro Park. She was 94 years of age, and moved to Eretz Yisroel after decades of life in Boro Park.

The nifteres was the daughter of Rav Dovid Shloime Frankel, zt”l, Hy”d, author of Be’er Dovid, who was murdered by the Nazis, ym”sh.

Following the horrors of the Holocaust, she married her esteemed husband, Hago’on Rav Menashe Klein, zt”l, Ungvarer Rov, and a longtime posek in Boro Park. She was a partner in all his endeavors, including the building of Kiryas Ungvar in Eretz Yisroel, and the writing of his popular teshuva seforim.

Among her distinguished children are the current Ungvarer Rov of Boro Park, and Admorim and Rabbonim. Sadly, her son-in-law, Rav Yehuda Aryeh Leib Alter, a son of the Pnei Menachem of Ger, passed away many years ago, leaving her daughter an almonoh.

A number of years ago, she moved to Kiryas Ungvar, where she lived out her years. She was niftar in the overnight hours of Wednesday night, and the Levaya went out Thursday afternoon.

The ungvarer Rov will return to America on Sunday and sit shivah in the beis medrash from Sunday and on.
