Boro Park FDNY Chief Elevated to Deputy Chief

By BoroPark24 Staff

At a promotion ceremony held yesterday at the Ocean Breeze Track and Field Facility on Staten Island, 75 active FDNY members were elevated to higher ranks.

Among those promoted was a battalion chief who covered the Boro Park neighborhood, now advancing to the position of Deputy Chief.

At the ceremony, 15 battalion chiefs were promoted to deputy chief, 24 fire lieutenants were promoted to captain, 33 firefighters were promoted to lieutenant, one firefighter was promoted to marine pilot and two firefighters are now marine wipers. The promoted members bring more than 1,000 years of experience to their new roles. They will be assigned to fire companies throughout New York City.

This event took place just days after the "Family Day" event, which the families of 284 individuals currently in the final phases of their FDNY training participated in. During Family Day, families were shown live demonstrations of training exercises, giving them a glimpse into the work their loved ones will soon be doing.
