Boro Park Mail Thief Caught Red-Handed; Found with Knife

Early this morning, a man suspected of repeatedly stealing mail from residents’ mailboxes using a USPS key was caught in the act near 58th Street and 9th Avenue.

Shomrim volunteers, who had been monitoring the suspect’s suspicious activity, quickly intervened and apprehended him with assistance from the NYPD. During the arrest, officers recovered both a USPS key and a knife in the suspect’s possession, raising concerns that he may have posed an additional threat to the community.

The individual was taken into custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
