Brinks Truck Thieves Make off With $300,000

A Brink armored truck employee was distracted just long enough for three thieves to steal $300,000 in cash on Friday, January 6 from the truck parked in front of Chase Bank at 5423 8 Avenue.
The Brink employee was making a bank money drop when two unknown individuals approached him around 1:00 p.m. to ask for directions. While his attention was focused elsewhere, a third party grabbed a bag containing $300,000 cash from off of the bumper of the armored Brink's truck and fled the scene on foot, heading southbound on 8 Avenue.
After the successful heist, the two individuals asking for directions fled as well.
Police are asking for assistance in identifying the three thieves. The one who made off with the bag is described as a male with a light complexion and a slim build, last seen wearing a black winter hat, a black hooded jacket, gray pants, and black sneakers.
One of the individuals who distracted the Brink's employee is described as a male with a medium complexion and a medium build, last seen wearing a black winter hat with white trim, a black winter coat with a hood, gray pants, and black sneakers.
The other individual who asked for directions is described as a male with a medium complexion and a medium build, last seen wearing a black winter hat, a black face mask, a black jacket, black pants, black sneakers, and a black backpack.
