COJO-SI Congratulates Captain Andrey Smirnov on His Appointment as the New Commanding Officer of Pct. 123, Captain Timothy Wilson on His Appointment as the Commanding Officer of Pct. 122, and Deputy Inspector Tania Kinsella on Her Appointment of Commandin

Recently, Mendy Mirocznik, president of the Council of Jewish Organizations of Staten Island, and Ari Weiss, security chairman of COJO and coordinator of Staten Island Shomrim met with   Captain Andrey Smirnov and congratulated him on his appointment as the new commanding officer of Pct. 123, Staten Island, New York.

Mirocznik stated that, “Captain Smirnov has a wealth of experience in policing. The Captain is no stranger to Staten Island having previously worked the Staten Island Narcotics in the 120th Precinct. Most recently Captain Smirnov worked at the Brooklyn North Warrant Squad, and his diverse experience in policing will be greatly beneficial to his new assignment as the commanding officer of Pct. 123.

COJO also congratulates Captain Timothy Wilson on his appointment as Commanding Officer of Pct. 122, and welcomes back and congratulates Deputy Inspector Tania Kinsella and on her appointment as Commanding Officer of Pct. 120.

Mirocznik stated, we at COJO are familiar with Captain Wilson’s great police work as Commanding Officer of Pct. 123 and with Deputy Inspector Kinsella’s great police service as Commanding Officer of Community Affairs at Patrol Borough Staten Island, and later as Executive Officer of Pct. 120. We at COJO are excited and are truly fortunate to have in Staten Island such wonderful stellar exemplary and model police commanders and firmly believe that they will be a credit to the NYPD and to the precincts they are fortunate to serve.

We are confident that Captain Smirnov, Captain Wilson and Deputy Inspector Kinsella will be an invaluable asset to the great Staten Island police team headed by the highly respected and venerable Staten Island Borough Commander, Chief Kenneth Corey, commanding officer of Patrol Borough Staten Island.

Mirocznik, further commented that Scott Maurer, CEO and Executive Vice-President of COJO and Ari Weiss security chairman of COJO and coordinator of Staten Island Shomrim are excited about the appointments of Staten Island’s new precinct commanding officers and  we look forward to collaborating with them, and in partnering with them in helping to improve the quality of life on Staten Island.
