A fire broke out this morning at a two-story house near 74th Street and 6th Avenue, sending heavy smoke through the neighborhood and leaving the home badly damaged.
Witnesses reported huge flames coming from the house as firefighters rushed to the scene. The fire was mainly burning in the cockloft area between the roofs, allowing it to spread quickly and engulf the entire house.
Residents across Boro Park said the smoke and strong odor could be seen and felt in multiple areas as the fire continued to burn.
No injuries have been reported. Fire officials are working to determine the cause of the blaze.
