On Wednesday afternoon, Chevra Hatzolah, its officers, and members of the board, welcomed Speaker Adrianne Adams to the offices of Hatzolah in Boro Park.
Speaking with BoroPark24, Rabbi Yehiel Kalish, CEO of Central Hatzolah said, “It was special to have the Speaker of the City Council and several of her colleagues at Chevra Hatzalah Central Operations last night in Boro Park. The Speaker, who is a long-time supporter of Hatzalah, wanted to impress upon her colleagues in the City Council the important role Hatzalah plays in New York City as a whole.
Extolling the heroism of the Hatzolah staff before the Speaker, Rabbi Kalish noted how the members are available 24/7 to help the community. “Gemilas chassodim, being there for our neighbor, is such a strong concept in Judaism that our rabbis have taught us that it is one of the three pillars that hold up the world,” he said.
Issac Stern, a member of the board of directors of Chevra Hatzolah addressed the Speaker, saying, we are honored and humbled by your presence, and we hope that this visit will strengthen our partnership and our friendship as we work together to save lives.”
