MTA passengers can expect to see NYPD officers on all overnight trains starting next Monday.
Earlier this week at her State of the State address, Governor Hochul unveiled her new subway safety plan, which included adding police officers on all overnight trains in response to the recent rise in violence on the subway system.
At a news conference Thursday afternoon she announced that the plan will go into effect next Monday, January 20th. Two officers will be patrolling each of the roughly 150 overnight trains to ensure that all subway passengers are safe.
