Morning Chaos as Road Work Upends Boro Park Traffic
By Y.M. Lowy
Boro Park was thrown into disarray this morning as road work on 14th Avenue disrupted the usual transportation routes, leaving parents and children scrambling in the heat.
Frustrated parents shared that they had no idea how to get their kids to summer school, day camp, or work on time. Many buses were late or rerouted without clear direction.
The situation was made worse by the closure of 43rd Street from Dahill Road and up, adding to the already mounting traffic.
Bus routes were detoured or delayed, and hundreds of children were forced to walk or wait while parents tried to sort out the mess.
With the heat already intense early in the day, the disruption was exhausting. By late morning, traffic was still backed up across parts of the neighborhood.
