NYC Ferry Summer Schedule Changes Set to Begin May 18

NYC Ferry will begin rolling out its summer service schedule on Monday, May 18, bringing several route changes ahead of the busy summer travel season across New York City.
The updated schedule includes changes to the East River, South Brooklyn, and Rockaway routes, along with adjustments to weekend service and departure times. NYC Ferry says the seasonal changes are aimed at handling heavier summer ridership as more New Yorkers travel to waterfront neighborhoods, beaches, and parks.
On the East River route, weekend service will now operate as two separate routes throughout the day. Riders traveling beyond their route will be able to make free transfers at DUMBO, Wall St./Pier 11, or East 34th Street. Weekday afternoon departure times on the East River line will also change under the new schedule.
The South Brooklyn route will no longer stop at Governors Island on weekends and instead will extend service to Sunset Park/BAT and Bay Ridge. Riders heading to Governors Island will still be able to transfer at Wall St./Pier 11 using the Governors Island shuttle service.
NYC Ferry is also bringing back its Rockaway Reserve program for the summer season beginning Memorial Day weekend. The system allows riders to reserve a guaranteed spot on select ferry departures to and from Rockaway during peak weekends and holidays.
Additional changes will affect Rockaway-Soundview weekend service, with some trips operating only between Wall St./Pier 11 and Rockaway. NYC Ferry says service between Wall St./Pier 11 and Rockaway will run approximately every 25 minutes during summer weekends.
Riders are encouraged to review the full updated schedules and route changes before traveling. More information is available at ferry.nyc
