By Idy Perl
The NYC Marathon has broken the world record as the biggest marathon ever!
This week’s marathon had 55,646 runners who completed the race, which is more than the previous record holder, the Berlin Marathon last month which had 54,280 finishers.
A Dutch runner finished the NYC Marathon first, coming in at an incredible 2:07. The oldest runner who completed the race was an 88-year-old man from New Zealand who finished the race in over 11 hours, and was greeted with cheers and applause at the finish line.
