Sanitation Worker Caught and Disciplined After Heaving Garbage All Over 19th and 50th

The sanitation worker who was caught on camera throwing garbage onto the streets at 19th Avenue and 50th Street, instead of hauling trash away, on the morning of March 15, has been disciplined, City Councilman Kalman Yeger said at Tuesday night’s Community Board 12 meeting.
After BoroPark24 posted recorded footage of the garbage man’s “work” that morning, one week ago, Community Board 12 and Councilman Yeger, who represents District 44, forwarded the incriminating video to the chief, the commissioner, and the superintendent of the Department of Sanitation New York (DSNY).
“The DSNY launched an investigation very promptly, and this individual has been disciplined,” said Community Board 12 District Manager Beri Spitzer.
With gratitude, Councilman Yeger said that DSNY Commissioner Ed Grayson was “incredibly responsive.”
The “rogue sanitation worker,” as Councilman Yeger called him, will get a trial and a hearing, “but the video speaks for itself,” Yeger said.
“I anticipate that he will receive his due punishment for violating his DSNY oath and his uniform.”
