Sloatsburg Mincha Area Reopens, With Masks and Distancing Rules
Sloatsburg - Travelers making their way up to the Catskills on Thursday nights will once again be able to stop for Mincha and Maariv at the Sloatsburg Rest Area, with a new coronavirus twist.
Beginning this week, the area will be open from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. each Thursday night throughout the summer travel season. It is located on the northbound Thruway between exits 15A and 16. All attendees must wear masks and maintain social distancing rules.
The area is named the Tefilos Mordche Mincha Area in memory of Rabbi Morton Friedman, who first arranged for it about 15 years ago. It is organized today by his Sons, Rabbi Abe and Rabbi Joel Friedman.
