Trespass and Shooting Incident in Catskills

This afternoon, a routine trespass complaint at 3392 State Route 97, quickly escalated into a tense and dangerous situation.
The situation intensified as officer who responded to the scene observed the suspect across the lake, brandishing a firearm.
The deputy, along with the backup units, confronted the suspect, who was slowly maneuvering his vehicle despite being boxed in. Spike strips were deployed in an attempt to halt his movement. The confrontation escalated further with shots fired and crossfire exchanged between the suspect and deputies.
Meanwhile, the Fire Department promptly shut down the roads in the area to ensure public safety.
In a dramatic turn of events, law enforcement officers successfully yanked the suspect out of his vehicle. EMS was immediately requested to attend to any injuries sustained during the altercation, and a chopper was called in to assist with the scene.
The suspect is now in custody, and the area remains under investigation.
