Viznitzer Chassidus to Open Beis Hinda Girls School for Coming School Year
YS GOLD
Many Boro Park families, Viznitzer Chassidim in particular, are rejoicing with the news that a new girls school, Beis Hinda, will be opening its doors in the fall to serve discerning chassidishe families from the community.
The primary chinuch philosophy of this school will be mesorah—to educate the girls in its charge according to the traditions of Jewish daughters and mothers of yore.
Tasked with steering this educational institution is the Skulener Rebbetzin, a mechaneches with thirty years of chinuch experience shaping the mothers of tomorrow in the ways of Torah and yiras Shomayim and chassidus.
In his letter of endorsement and blessing to the askonim opening this school, the Vizntzer Rebbe of Bnei Brak delineated his vision for this new mossad:
It brings me great joy to hear of the founding of the educational institution for the daughters of your precious community. Our sacred tradition places tremendous emphasis on the education of girls, for from them emerges the firm foundation upon which faithful Jewish homes are built.
At the moment of receiving the Torah, it was specifically the woman who merited to be addressed first, as the Ribbono shelOlam told Moshe Rabbeinu Ko somar l’beis Yaakov.”
In establishing the foundations of this new institution, it is essential to carry the weighty responsibility of understanding that the purpose and essence of the institution is to raise a Jewish mother—one who understands her role and mission in establishing a home that will be imbued with love of Torah, pure fear of Heaven, and refined character traits, following the path handed down to us from generation to generation. For the primary responsibility of the home and the education of the children rests in the hands of the woman of the home.
Indeed, with proper honor for every individual and household, it is with blessing that I note how Hashem has granted success to those engaged in this holy work. May this institution, with Hashem’s help, stand in the United States upon the foundations and guidelines I have conveyed to you, and may it have the strength to raise upright and blessed generations who fulfill the will of Hashem and build a holy Jewish home.
