FBI Searches Adams’ Cell Phones for Evidence He Exchanged Favors for Campaign Donations

After approaching Mayor Eric Adams on the street on Monday, November 6, three FBI security agents asked the mayor’s security detail to move aside, before climbing into his S.U.V and taking possession of three of his iPhones and one iPad for a few days.

In possession of a court-authorized warrant, the FBI seized the mayor’s devices to investigate whether the mayor was involved in possibly speeding up City agencies’ approvals of the opening of the Turkish government’s new diplomatic headquarters, the New York Post reported.

In light of the FBI’s raid on November 8 of Briana Suggs, Adam’s chief fundraiser, the feds appear to be searching for evidence that the mayor’s campaign received donations in exchange for Adam’s connections with the FDNY.

In particular, the FBI was looking through the mayor’s devices to search for texts and emails that reveal that the then Brookyn boro president pushed through DOB and FDNY permits to fast-track the building of the Turkish government’s new diplomatic headquarters.

In his own statement, Mayor Adams appears unfazed.

“I have nothing to hide," Adams wrote. "As a former member of law enforcement, I expect all members of my staff to follow the law and fully cooperate with any sort of investigation, and I will continue to do exactly that.”
