Finally: Sidewalk Construction Begins on 37th Street, at Bobov-45 Mesivta Lot

By BoroPark24 Staff

After years of anticipation, the stretch of 37th Street between 14th and 15th Avenues is finally getting a much-needed upgrade: a sidewalk.

Despite being a bustling block with dozens, if not hundreds, of businesses and offices, the absence of a sidewalk has long been a safety concern for pedestrians, as previously pinpointed in a Readers Write on BoroPark24.

This afternoon, construction crews were spotted laying down the foundation for the new sidewalk at the former Kings lot. This initiative brings a safer and more convenient walkway for people navigating this busy street.

As reported here, Bobov-45 recently acquired the former Kings lot for the construction of a new Mesivta building. Thanks to their credit, this new sidewalk will now add safety to this important street.

This development raises the question: will this spur further sidewalk construction on the Brooklyn Square side as well and the rest of the street?

Only time will tell.
