MOSHAV MERON to Close Entrance at Night, following Ministry of Holy Sites Decision

As of Thursday night, the entrance to Moshav Meron will be closed in the evening.

The local municipality made this decision after the Ministry of Holy Sites removed the round-the-clock security from the entrance to Meron, leaving the famed holy village unprotected.

The gate will be closed from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. , and on Shabbos and Yom Tov.

It is unclear if and how this will affect access to the holy Tziyun, which many flock to during the overnight hours.

This all comes during a time of great uncertainty about the future of the hillula on Lag Ba’omer, as we stand weeks away from this awesome day.
