Multiple Arrests Made in Boro Park This Weekend With the Help of Shomrim
By Y.M. Lowy
A series of incidents across Boro Park led to multiple arrests this week, thanks to a fast response by Shomrim and coordination with the NYPD.
Two people were caught breaking into a construction site on 12th Avenue after a call from the building's security company. Shomrim responded right away and the NYPD made the arrest soon after.
On Bay 23 and Bath Avenue, a woman had her pocketbook pulled out of her hands. Shomrim volunteers fanned out with the description she gave, and one of them spotted the suspect nearby. Police moved in and made the arrest.
Later that day, a driver under the influence hit a car on 14th Avenue and 59th Street. With the assistance of Shomrim, the NYPD arrested him at the scene.
And on 17th Avenue and Dahill Road, a man was seen climbing a fire escape and entering an apartment. The call came in, and within minutes, officers were on site and placed him under arrest.
Each case was different, but quick calls and sharp teamwork helped bring things under control before they could go further.
