NYPD Confiscates Multiple Illegal Mopeds

Boro Park has seen a tremendous uptick in snatching incidents in recent months, a massive margin of them being executed by thieves passing by on mopeds, as reported by BoroPark24 here. 

The uptick of such crimes led the NYPD to undertake a critical project focused on removing illegal mopeds and scooters involved in a growing number of robberies from the streets of New York to get to the root of the problem by yanking the wheels out from under the troublemakers.

While the crackdown is taking place all around the city, including a huge crackdown in Manhattan and Queens. In recent weeks, Boro Park has witnessed many police stops where the NYPD asked moped drivers for their registration. Those who were driving illegally or who had a bike with stolen plates had their mopeds confiscated, making the streets of Boro Park safer and more crime-free, one moped at a time.

Whether or not this will result in long-term benefits for Boro Park has yet to be seen, but for now, this is certainly a good step towards cracking down on the perps who have brought down the quality of life for so many.
