66th Precinct Joins Newly Launched Citywide 24/7 E-Commerce Exchange Zone Initiative

by M.C. Millman

The NYPD has launched a new safe space e-commerce exchange zone initiative so online buyers and sellers can safely carry out transactions and hand off items purchased online.

Shoppers utilizing Facebook Marketplace, Nextdoor, E-Bay, and Craigslist can now buy and sell goods online while minimizing fears of dealing with strangers while completing a transaction.

Boro Parks' 66th Precinct is participating with its own designated secure, well-lit, and well-monitored e-commerce exchange zone on-premises.

By the end of December, there will be a total of ninety-eight exchange zones between the five boroughs in police precincts, public housing, and multiple transit locations. No appointment is necessary as the sites will be monitored 24/7.
