Captured Moment: Mapleton Park Jewish Center

This week’s captured moment takes us to the Mapleton section on the outskirts of Boro Park, and to a shul that has existed there for many decades. Looking closer, we can see that a Talmud Torah existed there as well in the 1940’s.

The Spoons Café dairy restaurant has stood at the corner of 13th Avenue and 50th Street for more than two decades now. But in 1940 this was the home of the Park Soda and Candy Store.
