Major Fire Destroys Bunkhouse in Camp Rayim

A major fire broke out at Camp Rayim, filling two bunkhouses with flames and smoke.

The first bunkhouse, which housed 30 boys, was completely destroyed along with all the boys’ belongings including some pairs of teffilin, a witness shared with Boropark24.

The second structure is still standing, however, it did sustain significant damage.

Catskills Hatzolah and several fire departments quickly responded to the scene and with the help of the campers, the fire was extinguished.

Thankfully all campers were safely evacuated and nobody was injured.
