More Trees Coming To Boro Park’s Border
By Idy Perl
New greenery is coming to the Green-Wood Cemetery that borders Boro Park.
Federal funds set aside to fight climate change and improve access to nature and greenery are being allocated to plant 1,500 new trees in the cemetery over the next three years. The funds will also cover the cost of maintenance for the 140 trees that are currently on the property.
At the end of the project, around 35% of the lot will have shade, and the surrounding area will greatly benefit from the improved air quality.
