New York Department of Health Addresses Rosh Hashana Davening Concerns
The New York State Department of Health published a COVID-19 interim guidance letter today addressed to the Jewish community regarding Rosh Hashana davening.
Guidelines include keeping indoor occupancy down to 33 percent capacity or to a minimum where everyone can keep six feet apart and 12 feet when singing.
Wearing face-coverings throughout davening is encouraged but is not a requirement when seated.
The letter recommends shofar blowing be done outside and 12 feet from any person.
All shuls should be cleaned and disinfected after every service.
