NYC Rolls Out First new ‘Health Vending Machine’

A health vending machine debuted in New York City, and may be coming to a neighborhood near you if the pilot is deemed successful. 

The first machine was placed at Decatur and Broadway Streets in the Bushwick area of Brooklyn, and contains Covid-19 tests, as well as hygiene, and a number of other health products. 

The machines cost $11,000 apiece, and are monitored and overseen by the city’s Health and Mental Hygiene and Services department. 

Officials said that this project has a real chance for making an impact in the community.
