TODAY: Work on BQE Begins at Last

The DOT has announced the commencement of the much-needed road work on the Brooklyn Queens Expressway— a process that will take at least two months, and will definitely affect road traffic. 

A Tweet from the DOT said: “Work on the Queens-bound #BQE will require closures starting 7/20, 12AM-5AM and continuing up to 8 weeks.” 

A single lane will be closed from Atlantic Avenue to Sands Street, and the Atlantic Avenue ramp onto the BQE will be closed entirely, requiring motorists to use detours.
