BDE: Dr. Yehuda Sorscher, z”l

We regret to inform you of the petirah of Dr. Yehuda Sorcher, z”l, a longtime dentist in the Boro Park community, and a longtime resident of Boro Park. He was 85 years of age. 

The niftar was known for his ehrlichkeit and his dedication to building Torah. He was well-known in his practice, and treated everyone with respect and eidelkeit. 

When Yeshiva Derech Chaim was starting out, over forty years ago, Dr. Sorscher was the first to jump in to help it establish itself, and draw support from the community for its well-being. He remained the yeshiva’s president throughout this time, serving as a pillar of the yeshiva since its first day.  

A relative described Reb Yehuda as a respected and beloved presence at family simchos. “He had a particular love for neginah, and could sit for hours singing with us,” he recalled. “He loved family, and he loved people,” he recalled. 

He established beautiful generations of bnei Torah and talmidei chachomim who are a credit to his legacy. 

The levaya will take place this morning at 11:00 at Yeshiva Derech Chaim to which he dedicated so much of his life.
