BDE: R’ Yitzchok Dovid Halevi Kanner, z”l

We regret to inform you of the passing of R’ Yitzchok Dovid Kanner, a longtime Boro Park resident and a scion of the Chernobyler dynasty. He was 96 years of age.
The niftar was born in Berdichev to his parents, Reb Chaim and Mirel Kanner. He was named for his paternal grandfather, Reb Yitzchok Dovid Kanner of Berdichev. Rav Yitzchok Dovid was a rov in Berdichev, and was tragically killed in the Pogroms of 1919, and he lies interred in an ohel in Berdichev. His mother was the daughter of Rav Tzvi Aryeh (Hersh Leib) Twersky, a scion of the Makarover dynasty, which is a branch of the Chernobyler dynasty.
Reb Yitzchok Dovid remained in Berdichev for a number of years after the war, after which he came to America, and resided on 12th Avenue.
He leaves behind beautiful Torah generations.
The levaya will take place on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Beth David Elmont Cemetery.
