We regret to inform you of the petirah of R’ Meir Izak, a native of Yerushalayim who resided in Boro Park for many years, and was the right hand of the Skulener Rebbe, zt”l. He was 84 at the time of his passing in Shaarei Zedek Hospital in Yerushalayim.
The niftar was the son of R’ Ephraim Izak, and the son-in-law of the legendary Rav Shmuel Ashkenazi of Batei Ungarin.
As noted, he came to live in America many years ago, and became especially close to the Skulener Rebbe, zt”l. He was his right hand in running mosdos Chesed L’Avrohom-Skulen, and stood at the helm of these institutions for many years.
But his chessed and generosity were not limited to this endeavor alone. Reb Meir also ran private tzedakah and chessed initiatives, helping countless people over the years.
In recent years, he returned to his native Eretz Yisroel, residing in Beitar, where he davened in the Khal Adas Yerushalayim-Masmidim Shul.
He was unwell in recent weeks, and left this world with an incredible legacy of chesed and tzedakah.
