Early Voting Begins this Weekend for New Yorkers
New Yorker’s can begin voting in the 2020 presidential election starting Shabbos.
The state is offering early voting for nine days beginning Oct. 24 and ending Nov. 1, to avoid crowding on Election Day.
There will be 88 voting sites open for early voting beginning Shabbos.
Be aware that your early voting site will likely differ from your usual one.
The Board of Elections has armed voting sites with PPE for workers, pens for each voter, and floor markers.
Each person entering a polling place is required to wear a face covering.
For contactless voting, all voters should have already received a voter “fast pass” tag in the mail.
The NYPD has deployed 5,000 officers to stand by beginning this weekend.
On Election Day, there will be over 1,200 officers ready to deter any conflicts.
