YS Gold
In honor of the big Simcha in the Munkatcher court, the wedding of the Rebbe Shlit"a's grandson, the youngest son of the Munkatch Rosh Yeshiva Rav Chaim Eluzer, oldest son of the Rebbe, which will take place Wednesday Dec. 27, BoroPark24 is pleased to present a piece of history to our readers.
The wedding of the Rosh Yeshiva Rav Chaim Eluzer, a great-grandson and namesake of the holy Minchas Eluzer of Munkatch, was historic. It was the first wedding of the next generation in the munkatcher dynasty, a celebration of the rebirth following the Churban. He married the daughter of Rav Eli Betzalel Teitelbaum Z"l, famously known by many as a true 'fartzatishe chasid'.
The wedding, that took place the 15th of Kislev 1985, was celebrated in regal fashion at the famed New York Coliseum in Manhattan, and it drew a vast crowd of chassidim and many adherents of the Minchas Eluzer who remembered the great tzaddik who was niftar before the war. The big royal wedding took the news by storm, in both, the Jewish and non-Jewish news headlines.
The joy which was evident on the Rebbe Shlit”a’s face as he married off his eldest child brought to the fore among all the chassidim the joy of the survival of the Munkatcher court which continues to thrive to this day.
We hope you will enjoy this piece of Chassidic history, presented in honor of the wedding of the Rebbe's einikel, youngest son of the Rosh Yeshiva, and the memories will bring joy in honor of the days of Simcha ahead of us.
