Senator Felder to Host “Fair Fares” Event, Awarding 50% off MetroCards for Those Eligible

On Wednesday, March 20, Senator Simcha Felder will host a “Fair Fares” event with the NYC Department of Social Services (NYC DSS), at which they will award half-fare MetroCards to low-income New Yorkers between the ages of 18-64. 

The event will take place at Premium Health Center, 4510 16th Avenue in Boro Park, and attendees will have the opportunity to determine eligibility and apply for half-fare MetroCards with assistance from representatives of NYC DSS. 

"Transportation is crucial for commuting to work, school and doctors’ appointments. New Yorkers struggling to afford public transportation are forced to choose between vital necessities. The Fair Fares Program can help people manage these crucial components of life without taking food off the table, and that’s a very good thing," said Senator Felder. "I am happy to partner with NYC DSS to bring this essential resource to our community.
