Shomrim Recovers Tallis and Tefillin Left in Car Service by Yerushalmi on Way From Airport

At 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Boro Park Shomrim received a call from Yerushalmi Yid, who had just arrived from the airport. He had mistakenly left his tallis and tefillin, along with more valuables, in the car service that brought him to Boro Park, and he had no idea of the driver's phone number.

Shomrim members began checking security cameras in the area until they identified the license plate of the vehicle. Using that information, they tracked the owner to a Spring Valley home.

Chaverim of Rockland took over the case from there, eventually finding the driver's phone number and making contact. The driver said he indeed had the bag in his vehicle but had no idea what it was. He then said he would have no problem bringing it back to Boro Park early the next morning at around 4 a.m. and would bring it with him then.

And so it was that through the teamwork of volunteers from two selfless community organizations, a Yid who is alone in a strange land found himself among loving brethren who reunited him with his precious belongings on a Boro Park street.
