Will It Break the 700-Day Streak? Heather Barrels Toward NYC
By Y. S. Gold
New York City has now gone 700 consecutive days without snow accumulation of even one inch.
This streak may be broken by Winter Storm Heather, which is barreling toward New York City, bringing icing, much cold air, a freezing rain mix, and potentially a few inches of accumulated snow.
The storm wreaked havoc on Texas and the Southern states.
According to Weather.com, Heather is expected to bring 2-3 inches of snow to the Big Apple on Tuesday—beginning in the morning and throughout the day— which would break the city’s nearly two-year snowless streak.
