‘15 Minute Halacha’ Begins New Volume of Mishna Berura
by YS Gold
What began as a riveting halacha shiur to a small group of people in Radoshitzer shul in Airmont has evolved into a phenomenon with thousands of listeners and viewers around the world.
Rav Eliezer Halberstam, Marah d’Asrah of the Radoshitzer Shul, began delivering a shiur in Mishnah Berura according to the Dirshu Daf Yomi B’Halacha calendar about a year ago. It soon gained popularity, and was being sent out on various online platforms.
“Within a matter of months, we reached 2,000 listeners,” relates one of the organizers in charge of disseminating the shiur. “The Ruv’s crystal clear delivery, coupled with engaging charts and visual devices (all sent out along with the shiur), have made this a cannot-miss part of their day for thousands,” he said.
The shiur never exceeds fifteen minutes, hence the name “15-minute-halacha,” and is an excellent way for the listeners to master crucial halachos.
As the shiur prepares to commence the second chelek of Mishna Berura, covering many important halochos, many more listeners are joining this program through audio, video, email, podcast platforms, and phone hotline—which give the public ample pathways to enrich their lives with the mastery of halacha.
