66th Precinct Welcomes Six New NYPD Graduates Including Chabad Chassid

On January 1st, the 66th Precinct of the NYPD, located in Boro Park, welcomed six graduates of the police academy. One of the six is a Chabad Chassid, officer Zalmy Naparstak, who will join his fellow police officers of the 66th precinct in providing safety and security to our neighborhood. 

“The current administration truly understands the importance of pairing officers who speak the language of the community they serve,” NYPD Inspector Richie Taylor told exclusively for BoroPark24. “I’ve already spoken with Officer Zalmy Naparstak while he was on patrol, and I see the dedication and devotion he has for the community. We’re fortunate to have him and the other new NYPD graduates on the streets to help keep the people of Borough Park and NYC safe,” 

While only on their second day on the job, the new recruits have already paid several visits within the community, including to the Hatzolah headquarters, where Rabbi Baruch Gips, Coordinator of Boro Park and Catskills Hatzolah, welcomed them gratefully, and at the Misaskim headquarters, where they were welcomed by Shloime Mayer, son of the legendary Yanky Mayer z"l.

The Boro Park community has always shared a great relationship with the local precinct, whose officers are dedicated to keeping the neighborhood safe. In turn, the 66th Precinct is known to be a precinct that is relatively easy to work at, being that Boro Park is one of the lowest-crime neighborhoods in the entire city. 

In addition, there are many volunteers in the Boro Park community who assist the police in their work while at the same time appreciating the work that is done by the precinct every day on behalf of our community.
