In that capacity, Captain Waldhelm interacted extensively with the community and with COJO. Throughout the course of the pandemic and even prior to covid, Captain Waldhelm had a strong presence in Staten Island. He was prominently present at COJO functions, gatherings and food distribution. The best is yet to come.”

It is through community engagement with important community partners such as COJO that we are able to secure, obtain and expand community trust. Throughout my tenure in Staten Island, I have had the privilege of working with COJO and have seen firsthand the important service they provide to the people of this Borough. COJO is a great unifier and a great community partner and I look forward in my new capacity as Commanding Officer of Pct. 121 to continue in that tradition and to expand upon that positive relationship. Thank You, Mendy Mirocznik, COJO President, Scott Maurer, COJO CEO and Executive Vice-President, Iva Reuven, COJO Service Committee Chairperson and Ari Weiss, COJO Security Chairman and Coordinator of Staten Island Shomrim, for being a dependable community resource and a trusted ally always being available and always responding and being there for Staten Island.
