JERUSALEM TRAGEDY: Names of Victims, Cause of Accident Released
By: Yitzy Fried
As the late-night hours pass in Yerushalayim, the city remains stunned by this evenings accident in which a large Egged bus ran right into a crowd of waiting passengers.
A Zaka volunteer who oversaw the scene said, “this was a terrible incident. The scene looked like that of a terror attack.”
There were reports of a man running after the bus as it was speeding down the hill. This turned out to be none other than the driver, who may have gotten off to close the baggage compartment, forgetting to lock the hand break. The weight of the bus caused it to begin moving despite being in park.
The bulk of the tragedy sadly centered on one family. The three victims were Mrs. Shoshana Glustein of Ofakim, a desert town in the south of Eretz Yisroel, and her two daughters, Chaya Sarah and Chana, a”h. They had been spending the days of bein hazmanim in Yerushalayim.
The levaya will take place Friday morning in Yerushalayim.
