More Snow Expected as Temperatures Plummet

Looks like we had a little teaser for what’s coming soon: another round of snow! A storm that hit the Northwest is blowing its way eastward and could bring another few inches of snow to New York City and the Tri-State area this week.
Last week’s snowfall broke Central Park’s 701-day snow drought, but not by much. This week’s predicted snow accumulation could dump three inches of snow on New York City, with the more southern parts of Brooklyn expected to get a bit more.
The snow is expected to start at sunrise on Friday morning and taper off from about Zman Knisas Shabbos until early evening, reaching about three inches over a nine-hour period. Rush hour and Erev Shabbos shopping can be a slick, slippery affair as the accumulation builds. The newest system will also bring a blast of frigid temps, the coldest since February of 2023. Shabbos will be the coldest, with wind chills in the single digits, while Sunday won’t bring much improvement.
