NYS Thruway Tolls Increase as of January 1

NYS Thruway Tolls Increase as of January 1

BoroPark24 Staff

NYS Thruway Tolls will increase January 1,  the first toll adjustment for system-wide NY E-ZPass customers since 2010.

Base NY E-ZPass rates will increase by five percent, and Standard Toll rates for Non-NY E-ZPass and Tolls By Mail rates will increase to 8.6 cents per mile for both groups by 2027.

The increase was approved on September 18, 2023, when the New York State Thruway Authority Board of Directors voted to approve the toll adjustment proposal on the New York State Thruway system. The vote came after a public toll adjustment process that began on December 5, 2022, which included five public hearings in 2023, receipt and consideration of public comments, completion of the Environmental Assessment for the proposed toll modification, as well as the completion of all of the necessary actions required by the Public Authorities Law, the State Administrative Procedure Act (SAPA) and the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA).
