Planned Closures for the BQE

The BQE is expected to have numerous closures soon for its long-awaited repairs. The DOT has announced that there will be full closures between the Atlantic Avenue entrance ramp and the Manhattan Bridge exit ramp on the Queens bound side of the BQE. There will also be partial closures on the opposite side of the highway at the same time. The closures are expected to last from Shabbos, October 14th at 2 a.m., to Monday, October 16th at 4 a.m.

NYC DOT Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez says “We are making critical repairs to the BQE to preserve its lifespan while at the same time trying to minimize impact on the local community.”

Travelers are strongly encouraged to avoid the BQE during the scheduled closures and to use alternate routes.
