Repairs to Begin on 50th Street Bridge Over LIRR, Parking Spots Eliminated

As the construction project continues on the nearby 17th Avenue Bridge—the roadway over the LIRR which runs diagonally beneath the Boro Park streets—the city has will begin a new phase in the repair project a few blocks away. 

The railroad runs underneath 50th Street near 19th Avenue, and a bridge enables cars to driver down 50th Street. 

Now the city is repairing the bridge, and there will be no parking along of 50th Street between 18th and 19th Avenues, on the eastern side of the street. About eighteen parking spaces will be eliminated for the duration of the construction project which is expected to last from April 10th and May 5th. Parking will be prohibited from 9:00-2:00 pm from Monday-Thursday.
