By YS Gold
We are saddened to inform you of the passing of R’ Kalman Schwatzmer, an oved Hashem with mesirus nefesh. He was in his early seventies.
“He was a lebedige mussar sefer,” Rav Yisroel Dovid Bick, marah d’asrah of Nachlas Moshe, told BoroPark24. Despite his many challenges in life, he never gave up on his learning, davening, and chessed.
Reb Kalman lost his parents at a young age and overcame numerous challenges in life. But he never complained and always had a smile.
He was a longtime mispalel at Nachlas Moshe, Rav Bick’s Shul, and was the candyman in the shul for many years.
“He loved children, and he loved people,” recalled Rav Bick. “He always had a smile for everyone, and he would be mishtatef in the simchos of everyone with a full heart.
Reb Kalman suffered a stroke about seven years ago and was wheelchair bound ever since. But he didn’t give up on his davening and coming to the shiurim, no matter how challenging it may have been.
The niftar leaves behind a beautiful family and an admiring community who mourn his passing.
The levya will take place at Nachlas Moshe (19th Avenue and 52nd Street) at 9:15 p.m.
