BDE: Reb Yechiel Mechel Samuel, z”l, Legendary Manager of Boro Park Wedding Halls

We regret to inform you of the petirah of Reb Yechiel Mechel Samuel, z”l, a legendary and longtime manager of Torah v’Yirah and Ateres Chaya. He was 72 years of age. 

The niftar is remembered by acquaintances, and those who worked with him, as having a heart of gold. 

To scores of Boro park residents, he was a feature of their weddings—always going out of their way to make things pleasant, and to provide all the extras, little things that others would not notice, always with a smile. 

“He would stand at his post near the kitchen door, always there to provide another portion—even after the kitchen had finished serving,” recalled one long time colleague and friend. 

R’ Yechiel Mechel will be remembered by all those whom he helped over decades in Boro Park.
