BREAKING: Person Dies in Construction Site Collapse on 50th Street

One person has died after a building under construction collapsed Friday afternoon on 50th street between 12 and 13th Avenues.

Emergency services responded to reports of a building collapse at around 12:15pm, and found one person trapped. The person was pronounced dead on the scene as Fire personnel removed the fallen debris. Misaskim was not needed on the scene.

Sirens were heard across the entire area as emergency services rushed to the scene, and heavy traffic and road closures are expected to remain for the next few hours in the area of 50th Street and 12th Avenue.

Mayoral Advisor Joel Eisdorfer and NYPD Assistant Chief McEvoy were on scene making sure that all the neighbors won't need to leave their houses for Shabbos.
